Sustainability

Last updated: July 2026

i-Spy is a small independent brand consultancy, so its environmental and social impact is different from that of a large agency. That does not remove the responsibility to make sensible choices.

The aim is to work in a way that respects people, reduces avoidable environmental impact and supports a healthy, resilient business.

How i-Spy works

i-Spy uses a flexible network rather than maintaining a large permanent studio or unnecessary overhead. Meetings and reviews can take place remotely when that is practical, while in-person time is used where it adds genuine value.

Travel is planned carefully, with rail, public transport and grouped meetings preferred where practical. Digital reviews and proofing are used to reduce avoidable printing, deliveries and repeated journeys.

Creative production

When print or physical production is required, i-Spy encourages clients to consider responsible paper choices, efficient formats, realistic quantities and suppliers that can explain their environmental standards.

The aim is to avoid unnecessary overproduction and create useful, durable work rather than short-lived material that quickly becomes waste.

Local or regional suppliers may be used where they are appropriate for the work, quality, timing and budget.

Technology and AI

Digital tools also have an environmental cost. i-Spy aims to use technology deliberately rather than compulsively, avoiding unnecessary processing, duplicated storage and repeated work.

This includes using the right tool for the task, reusing effective working structures and favouring suppliers that provide credible information about energy, water, carbon and data-centre efficiency.

More information is available in the i-Spy AI use policy.

People and partnerships

i-Spy aims to build fair, respectful and long-standing relationships with clients, suppliers and creative specialists.

That means clear expectations, honest communication, appropriate payment terms, respect for different backgrounds and making sure collaborators understand how their work will be used.

Responsible business

A sustainable business also needs to be commercially responsible. i-Spy keeps its operating model lean, invests in useful systems and avoids unnecessary cost or complexity.

The objective is to remain dependable, adaptable and capable of supporting clients over the long term.

Review and improvement

This is a practical policy rather than a claim of perfection. i-Spy will review it periodically as its work, suppliers and technology change.
